| Founded in 1976, Bethany U.M. Nursery School (Preschool) was
created to meet the needs of young children in our community. Since
that time, Bethany Preschool has evolved to keep up with the
educational, social, and other developmental considerations that
prepare the children for beginning kindergarten. Three year old
classes focus on social skills, listening and speaking skills, gross
motor skills, and introduction to academics, such as colors, letters,
numbers, and shapes. Four year old classes build upon skills learned
as a three year old and emphasize pre-reading, math, and writing
skills. Lessons are supplemented with music, stories, finger plays
and poems. Other subjects, such as science and social studies, are
integrated into these lessons. Christian values are reinforced as the
students are encouraged to practice kindness, love, patience, and
caring for one another. The annual Trike-a-thon for St. Jude's helps
the children develop a sense of giving and compassion for others. |
